This photo released Friday, April 19, 2013 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation shows a suspect that officials identified as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
The surving bombing suspect has been named as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Mass, AP reported.
Dzhokhar is the younger brother of 26-year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was shot and killed in a gun battle with Boston police Thursday night that also ended in the death of an MIT police officer.
A biology student at UMass Dartmouth described Tsarnaev as "quiet," SouthCoastToday.com reports.
A high school senior named Dzhokhar Tsarnaev won a $2,500 scholarship from the city of Cambridge in 2011, according to a Cambridge government website.
In February 2011, a Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was named Student Athelete Of The Month at a Cambridge school.
The brothers are reportedly of Chechen background, and possibly from Turkey, and have reportedly been here legally.
They are not, as some previously speculated, connected to a missing Brown University student.

It's not clear if the Boston bombing suspect and this Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are the same person.
A page on VK.com (A Russian Facebook) bears the same name (with different transliteration) as the suspect.
