Sony Mobile Unveils SmartWatch 2, Xperia Z Ultra Smartphone

Sony Mobile announced an Android-based SmartWatch 2 with NFC wireless as well as a large-screen 6.44-in. HD smartphone called the Xperia Z Ultra today.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra goes official: a 6.4" Snapdragon 800 monster

The Sony Xperia Z has yet to hit the U.S., but there’s already a bigger, more powerful smartphone on the way.
Today at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai, Sony introduced the Xperia Z Ultra. Designed to be an entertainment and business device, the Android Jelly Bean 4.2-based phablet features a 6.4-inch, full HD touchscreen and is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor.

As companies are wont to do, Sony is throwing a bunch of superlatives at the smartphone. It’s the “world’s slimmest full HD smartphone,” has the “world’s largest full HD display” and the “world’s fastest smartphone processor,” boasts Sony, but I tend to ignore such claims. That said, there are a couple of things that makes this smartphone interesting.
First, you can use a pencil or a ballpoint pen (with a tip over 1mm in diameter) to take notes or draw sketches right on the screen. With other smartphones and tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note II, you have to use a capacitive stylus to achieve the same effect.
What makes the Xperia Z Utlra’s screen different?
Sony told me that the display has a special type of coating (“Super Hard Coat ASF” if you’re curious) that allows it to work with pencils and pens, and helps protect it from scratches and other marks. I’ve asked for more details about this feature but have yet to hear back.
One other thing to note about the Xperia Z Ultra’s 6.4-inch, 1,920 by 1,080 pixel display is that it borrows technology found in Sony’s TVs called Triluminos. Without getting too technical, Trimulinos uses a different kind of backlight technology to display truer colors and more texture compared to standard LED backlighting, so you should enjoy richer, sharper images.
Graphics performance should also get a boost, thanks to the inclusion of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor. First introduced at CES 2013, the quad-core chipset brings HD voice support for better call quality, advanced voice command activation and more.
Other features of the Xperiz Z Ultra include an eight-megapixel camera on back, 16 gigabytes of internal memory with a microSD expansion slot and 4G LTE support. Like the Xperia Z smartphone and tablet, the phablet is water resistant in up to five feet of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
The Xperia Z Ultra is expected to launch globally in Q3, but no specifics were announced today, including U.S. availability — a market where Sony has struggled to make a name for itself in the phone business.
In addition to the Xperia Z Ultra, Sony also announced its next-generation Smartwatch today.

This sir mask will keep you from swallowing any dirt, but you will still breath in a lung full of dust

This 'facekini' will protect you from UV rays, but has no haze protection properties

Also, note that Batman and Lady Gaga never intended their face masks for haze protection

Advice from your biker friends will make more sense for now compared to your celebrity idol

Or you can opt for a more adorable look

You Have Till 15 July To Save Your Yahoo! ID

Spread the word, you've got slightly over a month to save your inactive Yahoo! ID if you wish to keep it. Yahoo! wants to free up Yahoo IDs.

Yahoo is giving its users a chance to switch to a shorter, more convenient user ID. In July, the company will reset each and every Yahoo ID that's been dormant for a period of 12 months, once again freeing up those usernames for public registration. Describing the cleaning as Yahoo's "next big push," senior vice president Jay Rossiter writes that "we want to give our loyal users and new folks the opportunity to sign up for the Yahoo! ID they’ve always wanted."
In mid-July, existing and new users will have the opportunity to reserve their ideal username. Unfortunately you won't know whether you've successfully scored your top pick until a month later, in August. If you've been ignoring a Yahoo account for months (or even years), this doesn't necessarily mean you'll be losing it. As long as you sign into any Yahoo service before July 15th, your ID will remain yours to keep.

Here's what you need to know:

If you’ve got a Yahoo ID that you haven’t used in a while, you’ve got two months before Yahoo gives it to someone else.
Yahoo announced today that it’s resetting inactive user IDs to free them up for users who might want them. People who haven’t logged into Yahoo for at least 12 months have until July 15 to do so.
The process seems fairly simple: First, Yahoo will allow users to apply for whatever inactive IDs they want. Then, in August, the company will reveal who gets what. (It’s not clear how this affects email accounts, which we’ve asked Yahoo about.)
Yahoo has been around since 1994, giving it nearly 20 years to accumulate countless inactive accounts. Considering how many more users it expects to add with, say, its Tumblr acquisition, I’d say this is a pretty smart move.
Of course, the move also has the ulterior benefit of getting estranged users back on Yahoo again, even if it’s just for a few seconds.
The big question, though, is this: Just how many inactive accounts does Yahoo have by this point? We can only guess.

Superman Doesn't Only Change In Phone Booths

Before we start, notice that Superman does not undress like a normal man. The Superman way of undressing is pulling apart the shirt first, tie next.
